Dr. Lacey graduated from Colgate University with a BS in Biological Sciences. He received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania and in 1981 he completed a post-doctoral residency in General Dentistry at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center. In addition to clinical practice at Eastman Dr. Lacey participated in gnathological studies and research into the human dentition and in clinical trials of emerging restorative materials and techniques.
Dr. Lacey began practicing General and Family Dentistry on Binghamton's historic west side in 1981, joining his father, Dr. Robert Lacey, also a graduate of Colgate University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lacey is a past president of the Broome County Dental Association and is the Sixth District Representative on the Council of Dental Benefit Programs for the New York State Dental Association and a delegate to the New York Dental Association House of Delegates. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pierre Fauchard Dental Honor Academy and recently was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a fellowship granted to only 4 percent of American dentists. In 2008 he and his staff received the Eagle Leadership Award from Mercer Global Associates for exceeding personal and professional goals that have made significant and positive changes in dental practice to benefit patients. As a member of the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped he participated in the Donated Dental Services Program and in 2010 his office received the Southern Tier Independence Center's Award for Outstanding Accessibility Achievement in service to and on behalf of the community of individuals with disabilities. He has also been honored as the Business of the Week by the Greater Broome County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Lacey served on the TriCities Opera Board for 18 years, United Way, Harpur Forum, & the Colgate University Alumni Association. An Eagle Scout & Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, he is an avid snow skier, golfer, skeet shooter & bowler.
